Materials

A combination of our glass sealed units, using Pilkington float glass and Readyseals draft strip, in conjunction with our Redwood pine and nylon air seals. In addition Audio-barrier glass can be used if specified. Our choice of the finest materials ensures the most effective noise reduction.

Finishes

Glass: clear, obscure, coloured.
Wood: natural, white, or colour coded.
Nylon Air Seals: white
Completely unobtrusive.

Originality

Glass sealed units: Hand built curves and other designs, from templates taken on-site. Suitable for wooden, original style glazing bars.
Customer’s own special glass can be removed, cleaned and sandwiched within sealed units.
Wood: All beads are molded in the traditional profiles, then mitred and pinned using traditional crafts.

Maintenance

Glass sealed units: Clean as normal window glass. Seal between glass and wood should be kept intact.
Wood external - Bi-annual inspection, re-coat when necessary.
Wood internal - Touch up as necessary.
Air Seals - Clean with weak solution of warm water and washing-up liquid to remove airborne dust and dirt, as necessary.

Safety

As standard, toughened or laminated glass on all panes below 800mm from floor height, or on request.

BS EN ISO 9002
(Successor to BS 5750).

Insulation

The movement of air through normal apertures when window is in a closed position is reduced by approximately 95%. Noise passage greatly restricted.

Performance

Windows and doors with noise reduction fitted passed the following:-
B.S. 6375 & B.S. 5368 part 1, Air permeability. B.S. 6375 & B.S. 5368 part 3, Wind resistance, strength and safety.

Design

Glass: Low profile “shadow” spacer bar, minimal visual attention.
Super-slim profile for incorporation into period sashes.
4-6-4 or as specified.
Wood: Victorian style profile beads.
Air Seals: The seals and holders rendered unobtrusive by positioning in a channel on the opposite side of the bead from the normal point of vision.
